Children's House Teacher
Megan was immediately drawn to SMMS in September of 2018 because she loved the family atmosphere. She felt immediately at home when she walked through the doors. Megan loves the independence the children in a Montessori setting have. They are able to become their own person while having teachers as their guides. She enjoys working with the 3-6 age group because the students have such big personalities.
She has a bachelors of Early Childhood and Childhood Education with a concentration in Social Studies from SUNY Fredonia. She is a NYS certified teacher and has been trained in Conscious Discipline. She has worked with children in public schools, preschools and daycares for over 6 years. In her free time she enjoys taking walks with her husband, and spending time with her dog and cat. If you see Megan outside of the school, you will probably see her reading a book!
“The best way to cheer yourself up is to try and cheer somebody else up.” – Mark Twain
FAVORITE CURRICULUM AREA
She loves the cultural and geography aspects of the classroom. She enjoys how the students get to see similarities and differences throughout the world right from the classroom.
FAVORITE LOCAL PLACE
Her favorite spot is the local library! She loves bringing the students there and seeing their faces light up when they find a great book.
She grew up in Fredonia, NY and moved to East Aurora in 2016
